Zurich Global Energy names underwriters
large-scale, onshore energy property risks, by making a key appointment of a global insurance market veteran in Bermuda.
John D. Holthusen is to be based here at Global Energy's underwriting office in the newly-created position of senior vice president, onshore property. He will also be developing Global Energy's Latin American portfolio of onshore property business.
A former risk manager, Holthusen arrives at Zurich from J&H's Global Energy unit, where he was senior property broker & practice leader. Before that, he was a senior underwriter, facultative property, at Sorema N.A., and has held posts at Protection Mutual Insurance Co. and Factory Mutual Systems in New Jersey.
Zurich has also appointed another market veteran, Cameron S. MacGregor, to Global Energy's London underwriting office in another newly-created position of senior underwriter, onshore property, working with UK brokers to coordinate the company's onshore property activities in the region.
MacGregor had previously been assistant general manager at the National Company for Cooperative Insurance in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Prior to that, he was facultative manager at Yasuda Fire & Marine Insurance Co. of Europe. He had also held different posts at Row Botham Baxter, Ltd., AIG, Midland Employers Assurance Co. and Commercial Union Assurance Co.
