A Pembroke man has denied possessing 3.41 grams of cannabis resin.

Jahkai Burgess, of Deepdale Road, was allegedly seen on a motorcycle by police officers illegally exiting a one way road onto Happy Valley Road. Mr Burgess pulled his motorcycle over but ran when officers approached him, prosecutor Carrington Mahoney told Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Mr Burgess was apprehended, at which point officers searched him, finding two clear plastic bags containing brown material that subsequent analysis showed to be 3.41g of the controlled drug.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released Mr Burgess on $1000 bail with one surety. He will reappear for mention on February 14.
