Armed robbery
A robber brandishing a machete raided a Queen Street restaurant on Friday evening, injuring one victim before leaving empty-handed.
According to police, officers attended the restaurant shortly after 9pm after receiving a report of an attempted robbery.
“The victim states that he was in the process of closing the establishment when an unknown male entered the premises wielding a machete and making demands of money,” a police spokesman said.
“However, there was no money in the restaurant and the suspect left the premises empty-handed. As a result of this incident the victim received a small cut to his arm and no one else was seriously hurt.”
Anyone who may have seen the incident, or who may have any information about the suspect or the robbery is urged to call the Central CIU at 295-0011.
