Christmas Day revellers heading to Elbow Beach tomorrow have been warned to make sure they park in an appropriate place.

The beach is a popular meeting place on Christmas Day but police say this has caused traffic hazards in the past, with people parking their cars and bikes illegally in front of the public entrance to the beach and in the road, blocking entry for emergency vehicles.

A spokesman said today: “We would like to advise the public that vehicles will be ticketed and also you also run the risk of having your vehicles towed.”
