Man pleads not guilty to breaking in to prison

A Devonshire man has been charged with numerous offences after he allegedly threw packages containing drugs, alcohol and two knives into Westgate Correctional Facility.Jovon Virgil, 25, pleaded not guilty yesterday at Magistrates’ Court to three separate counts of possession of cannabis, cannabis resin and heroin with intent to supply. He was also charged with, and pleaded not guilty to, unlawfully tossing bottles containing alcohol and other items into Westgate, being in Westgate without a lawful excuse, and two counts of possessing a bladed article in public.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded Mr Virgil into custody for trial on November 20.
