A disconcerting stance

July 9, 2013Dear Sir,Allow me this opportunity to convey sentiment expressed via another medium, a popular daily radio talk show, concerning the hot topic, the Sage Commission legislation, and comments made by the chairperson. It was alleged that a potential breach of the law had taken place. Further, correspondence had been sent to the office of the Premier, requesting governmental perspective on the issue. In a statement released, the current administration stated that they had ‘waived’ the law regarding the comments made by the chairperson. Further, that they had no issue with the findings being publicly released at a recent Rotary luncheon. Additionally, it was categorically stated that the Chairperson works for the Government / OBA.The question is, is this an after-thought in light of the situation?I believe the legislation states something to the effect that any findings of the Commission, will and should be conveyed by Cabinet or the respective Minister to the public, not any member of the Commission.Mr Editor, this ‘stance’ or precedent, appears to be habit-forming, taking into consideration other press releases concerning other disturbing situations, a perspective of the general public. They general public is very concerned! Is any individual above the law?Glenn Chase
