City parking to be affected by Queen’s Birthday Parade

Hamilton parking will be limited Saturday morning to accommodate the annual Queen’s Birthday Parade.Meanwhile ferry service will be limited on National Heroes’ Day on Monday, as the Island celebrates the holiday.Police issued a traffic advisory yesterday, stating the following roads would be closed between 9am and 12pm:l Front Street between Court Street and Bermudiana Road;l Court Street between Reid and Front Streets;l Burnaby Street between Reid and Front Streets.Parking will be prohibited in the following areas between 6am and noon:l Front Street between Court Street and Bermudiana Road;l Burnaby Street between Reid and Front Streets.According to a government spokesman, the Blue Route will operate according to the weekday ferry schedule, with transportation between Hamilton and Dockyard from 8.30am until 9.30pm.The Orange Route will operate according to its regular Monday schedule, with ferries running between Hamilton and St George’s between 9.30am and 5.15pm.And the Pink Route which services Hamilton, Paget and Warwick will operate from 10am until 6pm according to its public holiday schedule.There will be no ferry service to Rockaway, Cavello Bay and Watford Bridge.Service will return to normal on Tuesday.
