Chief of the General Staff tours Warwick Camp
The UK’s top Army officer, Sir Peter Wall, commended the Bermuda Regiment after his first visit and inspection of local troops.General Wall had stopped in Bermuda over the weekend, on his way to talks in Washington DC with senior US Army officers.The Chief of General Staff of the British Army toured Warwick Camp to observe training, and try out current and future issue rifles on the firing range.His review included disaster relief training, practice routines of the Operational Support Unit, and new recruits being put through their paces.Gen Wall’s visit to the Island included a meeting with Regiment Commander-in-Chief, Governor George Fergusson.He spoke also with the Junior Non-Commissioned Officers’ Cadre, who are in charge of training future recruits.Commending the Regiment, Gen Wall said he’d been “massively impressed by what I have seen here”.[naviga:iframe align="center" src="http://www.flickr.com/slideShow/index.gne?group_id=&user_id=55717917@N03&set_id=72157633080347730&tags=Regimnet" frameBorder="0" width="630" height="600" scrolling="no"][/naviga:iframe]
