Community group to raise funds for hospital

A community group to boost fundraising for the Island’s new hospital has been launched.The Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust has formed a Community Engagement Committee for the ‘Why it Matters’ campaign in aid of the King Edward VII Memorial Redevelopment Project.The end of the campaign is just over one year away.BHCT director Wendy Augustus said the fundraising campaign has so far raised $27.5 million toward the new acute care facility.Its Community Engagement Committee is composed of a range of local groups, and includes a youth wing.Useful websites:www.whyitmatters.bmwww.bhct.bm
