Parents turn out for symposium
A wide range of topics aimed at helping 21st century parents were presented as part of the second annual Parenting Tool Kit Symposium. The event was hosted by the Bermuda Family Council and opened by Minister of Youth, Families and Sports, Glenn Blakeney.“I would like to congratulate the Bermuda Family Council for their stellar work in organising this symposium and spearheading new initiatives to assist the Bermudian family,” he said. “I wish you a successful symposium because we will all benefit.“Let me also commend parents in our community who are doing their part; parents who are determined to do whatever it takes to ensure that their children grow into happy, healthy and well-adjusted adults.“A strong country is made up of strong families, and I encourage each of us as parents and adults in this community, to rededicate ourselves to ensuring that every young person has a positive role model and that every family in Bermuda has the chance to build a better, healthier future for themselves and their children.”The free symposium at Dellwood Middle School offered parents the chance to learn essential skills to help bring up their children.
