$75m cat bond to be listed on BSX
Munich Re has sponsored a $75 million cat bond that will be listed on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.The German reinsurance giant has regularly used the Island to raise extra capacity through its Queen Street series of transactions.Queen Street VII Re Ltd, a Bermuda special purpose insurer, will cover US hurricane and European windstorm, both on a per-occurrence basis, according to website Artemis.Artemis reported that demand for this cat bond caused spreads to tighten resulting in a drop in pricing before close.The single $75 million tranche of notes was originally marketed with a pricing guidance of nine percent to 9.75 percent above the collateral money market fund return. When it finally priced it was at below the lower end of that range, at 8.60 percent.
