Bermuda Under-40s Re/insurance Group is taking 21 industry professionals on an educational and networking trip to London.The group is spending five days in London this week, attending educational seminars at various London insurance market companies, including Hiscox, Goldman Sachs, AEGIS, and Ace.The group will also hear presentations from experts about insurance lines not commonly underwritten in Bermuda, such as political risk and terrorism. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to shadow industry peers at Lloyd’s of London.“This will be the fourth trip we’ve organised and we are thrilled to provide young professionals in the industry with the chance to expand their horizons through these trips and to also put their work into an international context,” said Julia Mather, tour leader for Bermuda Under-40s. “These tours wouldn’t be possible without our host companies who are so generous with their time and expertise.”Laura Norman, associate broker at Bowring Marsh, is one of the professionals travelling to London.“I am so looking forward to learning more about how the London market works and I’m grateful to Marsh for giving me this opportunity,” said Ms Norman, who joined Bowring Marsh in 2011. “I also want to thank Bermuda Under-40s for filling the itinerary with such interesting experiences.”Chris Reeves, president and chief operating officer of Bowring Marsh (Bermuda) Ltd, said: “Career development is particularly important at Marsh and we are happy to provide opportunities to colleagues, like Laura, who step up and show interest.“I am impressed with the calibre of events on this tour, and I am sure the experience will be very rewarding for Laura.”
