Man is arrested after pedestrian accident
A 23-year-old man allegedly involved in an accident that sent a pedestrian to hospital has been arrested.The Hamilton Parish man was said to be on Court Street trying to escape from police when the motorcycle he was riding and a woman collided.The incident allegedly happened on Saturday around 3.45am.Arrest after Harbour Road crashA 44-year-old Warwick man was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving following an accident on Harbour Road.No-one was injured in the accident, which took place around 6pm on Monday near the Valley Road junction in Paget, according to police.“It appears that a truck and a car were travelling along Harbour Road when the vehicles collided. Both vehicles received extensive front-end damage as a result; however there were no reported injuries,” said a police spokesman.“The truck driver, a 44-year-old Warwick man, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Michelle Berkeley on 295-0011.”
