The key to safety

September 23, 2012Dear Sir,This is in response to Kim Swan’s “Call for road assessment after latest crash” (September 21). If people, speed on this stretch on a regular basis (even the police travel on at 55-70k at times so don’t sound surprised) how is lowering the speed limit going to solve anything? They’re just going to speed anyway whenever the police aren’t around (you’re really expecting a cop, to hang in this area constantly or something when there are criminals to arrest and other offences in other areas?) This situation, like many others, is too grim to even try to solve. Adding a speed bump to that stretch, might make the situation worse so a grim matter becomes even more grimmer. Cautious people wouldn’t drive recklessly on the road. That is the key!DEFENSIVE DRIVERDevonshire
