A Bermuda-registered cruise ship has been caught in the middle of a lingering argument between Argentina and the UK.Provincial Argentine authorities denied the Star Princess permission to dock at the port of Ushuaia in Argentina because the ship had come from the Falkland Islands. The 2,600-passenger cruise ship, operated by Princess Cruises, has taken the same route previously without issue. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Falklands war, sparked after Argentina invaded the Islands in 1982. A total of 900 people were killed in the ten-week conflict.British companies have recently begun oil exploration, which could lead to billions of dollars in revenues for the Falklands, increasing tensions between Britain and Argentina.Tensions further increased after Britain announced the creation of a marine protection area around South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, a move which Argentine Defence Minister Arturo Puricelli dismissed as an attempt to usurp a larger area.
