Two people have been charged in Magistrates’ Court with stealing close to $200,000 in cash from a local company.Stephen Paynter, 59, of Cove Valley Road, St George’s, appeared alongside Debra Pacheco, 53, of Astwood Close, Pembroke.Both deny stealing $190,490.23 belonging to William E Meyer and Company the parent for the Meyer Group of companies between August, 2006 and March, 2009.They further deny conspiring together the defraud the company.Ms Pacheco also pleaded not guilty to a further charge of falsifying company records and accounts with a view to personal gain.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner granted bail of $5,000 with one surety to each defendant.The two must return to court for trial on March 14.
