Man charged with burglary and assault

A 28-year-old Sandys man has been accused in Magistrates’ Court of threatening words, escaping custody, burglary and assault.Randall Hall, of Spring Benny Road, denied the offences.Crown counsel Susan Mulligan said Mr Hall was charged with burgling $1,400 in gold and electronics from an Oceanside Road, Southampton address on November 27. It is further alleged that he assaulted occupants Melanie Dunn and John Mackenzie, and escaped from lawful custody later that date.Mr Hall is also charged with uttering threats to Mr Mackenzie at a public place in Sandys, on November 28.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner granted him bail of $2,000 on the condition that he keep away from Ms Dunn and Mr Mackenzie. A trial date was set for January 16.
