Queen's Birthday Parade tomorrow
The Queen’s Birthday Parade will be held on Front Street tomorrow morning.The annual event will showcase two guards from the Bermuda Regiment, including the Colour Party displaying the Battalion’s new Regimental Colours presented by Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Gloucester last year.The parade leaves from the Cabinet Office building at 9.45am.A Government spokeswoman outlined the route: “The Bermuda Regiment, led by the Bermuda Regiment Band and Drum Corps, will leave the Cabinet Office Building, transition onto Front Street and proceed to the Flag Pole. Upon the completion of the parade, the procession will travel back up Front Street and return to the Cabinet Office Building.A Police spokesman said the following traffic restrictions can be expected:* Point Pleasant Road (Albuoy's Point) between 4am and 10am;* Front Street, from Court Street to Bermudiana Road, as well as Burnaby Street between Reid and Front Streets, between 8am and 12pm;* There will be no parking between 8am and 12pm on Front Street between Court Street and Bermudiana Road, and Burnaby Street between Reid and Front Streets.* There will be no parking between 8am and 12pm at No 1 Shed car park and No 5 car park.Added the spokesman: "In addition, the Bermuda Police Service is authorised to close off streets or portions of streets, and restrict and authorise parking as the Commissioner of Police may decide."
