The primary function of the Salaries Review Board is to review the salaries for the Members of the Senate and House of Assembly and Ministers of Cabinet and other Officers. In my view, this would prohibit any Premier from arbitrarily altering the remuneration of Members, i.e. decreasing salaries, no matter how well-meaning this action may seem to be. Would not any such action also allow a Premier to arbitrarily increase Members salaries during times of economic prosperity?AGATHA’S SONDevonshire
