Health Plan hotline launched
Minister of Health Zane DeSilva said it is vital the public give feedback on the National Health Plan.Yesterday, he launched a hotline where people can leave their views and on Thursday he will be holding another public meeting.The Bermuda Health Council has recommended in the plan the Government extend the Standard Hospital Benefit (SHB) plan without increasing the cost.Some of the other reforms outline in the National Health Plan; re-engineering the way Bermuda finances healthcare, including the possibility of means testing, as well as improving the efficiency of overseas care, introducing an integrated health IT system and health promotion. There will also be a public meeting at the Francis Patton Primary School on April 14 at 6pm where the public can give their feedback.Alternatively, feedback on the NHP can be sent in writing to the CEO of the Bermuda Health Council, Dr Jennifer Attride-Stirling by April 30.The number is: 278-4960.The plan can be read in full at www.bhec.bm.
