Athletes in final Carifta preparations

Bermuda Track and Field Association (BTFA) will be hosting the final track meet this weekend at the National Sports Centre (NSC) for athletes before they travel to compete in the Carifta Games next week.BTFA president Donna Watson has urged the community to come out and cheer on the team before they head to the annual Games, which are being held in Jamaica.“This will be the last opportunity for the Bermuda public to see our athletes in action before they head off to the Games,” said Watson. “This is a very critical meet for our athletes as we get to have a last look at them and analyse the shape they are in.“This will give us an idea of how we can be positioned at the Carifta Games in each of their events.“We are excited and looking at the times our athletes are running and the distances they are jumping and throwing.“We should be very competitive in all of the events we are competing in.”
