March 4, 2011Dear Sir,Minister Minors, it would be a feather in your cap, if you win to have the German airline fly here, it would no doubt be a win-win situation for you as the Minister responsible for Tourism. But there’s a downside to this situation, Bermuda is no longer a fun place, the average visitor complains of not enough to see or do in terms of fun. My point is Bermuda is considered a dull, expensive place to visit. Bermuda doesn’t get it, they are in denial, followed by the fact its in a “time capsule”. The old way of trying to market this country no longer works – Bermuda needs a reality check. Take a page out of the Bahamas, look and have Donald Trump visit Bermuda with the idea of building a Casino/Hotel at Morgan’s Point!! But first the Cox administration must do something no other Bermuda Government has done; and that is to use Works and Engineering to demolish the buildings at Morgan’s Point with the help of West Gate’s inmates. The taxpayers would be happy to know finally their $80,00 dollars a year to house and feed one prisoner is finally paying off.Food for thought, Minister Minors.GEORGE BURCHERSt. David’s
