R. Wayne Scott was born on February 4,1967. The son of Reginald and Minna (nee Pearman) Scott, Wayne is the nephew of former United Bermuda Party Parliamentarian for Warwick East, the late John Irving Pearman and first cousin of the former Premier W. Alexander Scott. He spent his early years living in Massachusetts before returning in Bermuda where he attended the Bermuda Institute. He grew up on Spice Hill Road near Warwick Holiness Church and later lived on Khyber Heights Road.

Wayne's political career began in the early 90's as a campaign volunteer for the then United Bermdua Party Parliamentarians for Warwick West, Quinton Edness and the late Sir Jack Sharpe. He has also been actively working with the UBP on and off at the grassroots level since the early 90's.

Wayne believes that Bermuda is one of the best places in the world and that this is part by fate and part by design. In speaking with people throughout the community, the concerns that Warwick is facing, drugs, crime, our youth and affordable housing, are the same concerns facing our people across what he likes to call our "21-square-mile neighborhood".

Wayne believes that his years growing up in Warwick, facing and overcoming the trials that many of our youth encounter, and his life and work experience both in Bermuda and overseas have given him a broad perspective on life and an open mind. He believes that the future of Warwick, of the United Bermuda Party and of Bermuda, involves continuing to learn from the mistakes of the past and building on our past successes to move our country ahead.
