Manor House Bridge in Smith's was hit by a Belco truck out making repairs in the aftermath of Monday's storm.

Belco spokeswoman Susan McGrath-Smith said the incident took place late yesterday afternoon but the cause of the accident was not yet known.

The driver was hospitalised but was not "badly" hurt, she said.

"It seems like they hit one of the pillars. They had just finished a job on Lolly's Well Road."
