Road safety meeting in town tonight
Road crash statistics will be the focus of a public meeting and information session at Mount St. Agnes Auditorium tonight.
The event, organised by the United Bermuda Party's Pembroke region, is part of a series aimed at providing a deeper understanding of the crisis on Bermuda's roads.
Last year saw 17 fatalities — the worst rate in a decade.
Dr. Joseph Froncioni, former Road Safety Council chairman and founder of the charity Bermuda Smartrisk, will present the findings of a survey and analysis of road crashes during 200¾. These focus on high-risk road users and recommendations to improve safety.
Audience members will be invited to ask questions and contribute their thoughts during the meeting which starts at 5.30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
