Tagged trees aren't being sold

Despite the labels, the trees of the Botanical Gardens have not been sold.Visitors to the park this week noticed that many of the trees had been tagged, some with signs that read "Sold," but the signs are a part of a survey of the gardens, according to a spokesperson for the Department of Parks."The Department of Parks, with assistance from the Ministry of Works and Engineering's Architect Section, is currently undertaking a comprehensive inventory of the tree collection in the Botanical Gardens," said the spokesperson.

"The public should not be alarmed at the type of tags being used as they are temporary.
"In due course, proper tags will be placed in the trees denoting botanical information about each tree or palm."
