Banks busy on BSX

It was a story of two banks on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.Butterfield Bank rose 2.2 percent (three cents) to $1.38, with 4,611 shares traded.But Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. fell one percent (10 cents) to $9.75, as 2,181,139 changed hands.

Butterfield Bank rose 2.2 percent (three cents) to $1.38, with 4,611 shares traded.
But Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. fell one percent (10 cents) to $9.75, as 2,181,139 changed hands.
Butterfield also transacted 104 preference shares, but its share price held firm at $1,275.
The Index, as a whole, was up 13.86 points (1.16 percent) at 1,204.45, with 2,185,950 shares worth BD$21,274,415.85 and 1,468 shares worth US$145,880.20 traded.
The BSX Insurance Index also climbed 16 points (1.63 percent) to 997.
