BNTB's busy week
Butterfield Bank was one of the busiest traders on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) last week.
The bank's preference shares rose 6.3 percent ($75) to $1,275, with 400 shares traded, while its also saw 42,050 common shares change hands, climbing 4.3 percent (six cents) to $1.47.
But Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. dropped 1.3 percent (13 cents) to $9.75, as 14,700 shares were transacted.
BF&M Ltd. also fell 1.8 percent (24 cents) to $13.01, with 3,908 shares traded.
The Ascendant Group Ltd. was the only other trader, seeing 400 shares change hands, but its share value held firm at $14.99.
Overall the Index increased 26.39 points (2.09 percent) to 1,260.82, as 61,508 shares worth BD$262,576.15 and 3,300 shares worth US$543,425 were transacted.
The BSX Insurance Index also rose four points (0.4 percent) to 1,000.
