Butterfield Bank climbed 2.84 percent (four cents) on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

The bank traded 28,400 shares to close at $1.49.

BF&M Ltd. also saw 3,900 shares change hands as it edged up 1.81 percent (24 cents) to $13.01.

The Index, as a whole, rose 17.46 points (1.41 percent) to 1,251.89, as 32,300 shares worth $92,111 were transacted.

The BSX Insurance Index was also up five points (0.49 percent) at 1,021.
