Devonshire rises

Devonshire Industries Ltd. and Butterfield Bank were the biggest movers on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) last week.

Devonshire rose 38.5 percent ($2.50) to $9, with 1,000 shares traded, while Butterfield was up 13.3 percent (20 cents) at $1.70, as 83,800 common shares changed hands.

The bank also transacted 432 preference shares, but its share price held firm at $1,200, while Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. also traded 18,946 shares at $9.90.

Other traders included KeyTech Ltd., which climbed 7.1 percent (50 cents) to $7.50, with 1,500 shares changing hands, BF&M Ltd., transacting 66,916 shares to rise 5.4 percent (65 cents) to $12.75, and Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd., which edged up 5.3 percent (25 cents) to $4.95, as 100 shares were traded.

The Ascendant Group Ltd. also transacted 5,500 shares, but its share price remained unchanged at $14.

Overall the Index rose 108.5 points (7.91 percent) to 1,370.4, with 177,762 shares worth BD$1,271,149.30 and 1,687 shares worth US$530,824.25 changing hands.

The BSX Insurance Index was also up one point (0.11 percent) at 909.
