Butterfield Bank dropped 3.3 percent (five cents) to close at $1.45 on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

The bank traded 31,941 shares during the day.

The Ascendant Group Ltd. also fell 1.4 percent (20 cents) to $13.80, with 422 shares changing hands.

Overall the Index dipped 25.68 points (2.01 percent) to 1,250.62, as 32,363 shares worth BD$52,127.85 and five shares worth US$5,860 transacted.

The BSX Insurance Index, however, edged up nine points (0.96 percent) to 951.
