BSX's busy end

The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) finished the week with a flurry of activity yesterday.Butterfield Bank's right issue shares rose 14.28 percent (one cent) to six cents, with 447,301 shares traded.The bank also saw 9,350 common shares change hands, as it dropped 3.57 percent (five cents) to $1.35.

The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) finished the week with a flurry of activity yesterday.

Butterfield Bank's right issue shares rose 14.28 percent (one cent) to six cents, with 447,301 shares traded.

The bank also saw 9,350 common shares change hands, as it dropped 3.57 percent (five cents) to $1.35.

Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. also fell 3.34 percent (33 cents) to $9.55, with 2,200 shares transacted.

Elsewhere, the Ascendant Group Ltd. slipped 2.43 percent (35 cents) to $14.05, as 500 shares were traded.

Other traders included Argus Group Holdings Ltd. and BF&M Ltd., which saw 3,000 shares each change hands, but its share prices held firm at $6.50 and $13.50 respectively.

The Index, as a whole, dipped 23.14 points (1.75 percent) to 1,300.13, with 1,465,351 worth $190,121.28 traded.

The BSX Insurance Index was up nine points (0.89 percent) at 1,012.
