A motorcyclist broke his right wrist after crashing into the back of a taxi when it stopped to pick someone up.

The 23-year-old Southampton man also suffered cuts to his face in the accident on Middle Road, near its junction with Church Road, Southampton, on Sunday at 12.30 a.m. Both vehicles were heading west.

He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, although the 67-year-old taxi driver from Warwick was not injured.

The rear of the taxi and the front of the bike were both extensively damaged.
