Marina weather's storm – Island Cruisin' special has the story
Bermuda's newest – and unique – marina in St. George's proved its worth during Hurricane Igor last month.
In tomorrow's Island Cruisin' supplement of The Royal Gazette, co-owner and manager of Boatport, Craig Faries, also tells how all the boats in the Island's first dry stack boatyard came through safe and sound from the storm.
"It was very busy with the passing of Igor, but at the same time very enjoyable! We had no damage to any boats stored in either the Boatport or the Boatyard so I and my customers were very happy. This proves that the rack storage system is very safe and effective for storing boats."
Mr. Faries added: "It is basically a marina on land. You pay a monthly fee and it doesn't matter how many times you want to take your boat out.
"There is no extra cost. This is just like having your boat in a marina except your boat doesn't stay in the water."
Also in Island Cruisin', Custom Acoustics tells of growing with the times and there are articles on the new cars and bikes in Bermuda as well as the pitfalls of buying a second hand car.
The special supplement also looks at how cars are becoming more 'green' and how to finance and insure your car.
It's all in tomorrow's Royal Gazette.
