Foster bows out in semis

Five-time national champion Patrick Foster narrowly missed out on reaching the final of the Caribbean Squash Championships held in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Foster finished third in the individual mens' competition after losing to Chris Binnie of Jamaica 11-8, 6-11, 11-1, 7-11, 6-11.

Nick Kyme came in fifth place overall while Bermuda's Junior Caribbean Champion, Robert Maycock, also finished in the top ten.

The other members of Team Bermuda are Micah Franklin and Chris Stout.

The seven countries taking part in the competition are Bermuda, Barbados, Cayman Islands, Guyana, Jamaica, OECS and Trinidad and Tobago.

Squash spokesman, Roger Sherratt, said: "It's a young team and they have done very well. For us, the emphasis on this tournament has been on giving some of our younger players some experience." Bermuda were scheduled to take part in the team event last night. They are in a group with Jamaica and Trinidad. The top two teams will go through to the semi-finals.
