Motorcyclist taken to hospital after collision with car in Hamilton Parish
A man who was injured Sunday night in Hamilton Parish when his motorcycle collided with a car, was treated and discharged from the hospital.
Around 8.35 p.m. Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury near the junction with Red Kiln Road.
It appeared that the motorcycle was traveling east on North Shore Road and the car was travelling in the opposite direction when the car attempted to turn on to Red Kiln Road and the vehicles collided.
The rider of the cycle, a 23-year-old Hamilton Parish man, sustained abrasions to his knees, a laceration to his head as well as pain to his chest.
He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
The car driver, a 74-year-old Hamilton parish man, was not injured.
The motorcycle was extensively damaged while the car received rear end damage to its left side.
Traffic was also diverted away from the scene for approximately half an hour.
Inquiries into this incident are underway.
