A 28-year-old man was in critical condition last night after his cycle and a car crashed on Parsons Road in Pembroke.

The man from St. George's has serious head injuries and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance shortly after 6 p.m.

The crash happened around 5.55 p.m. near the junction with Field View Lane. But details on what caused the collision were unclear last night.

An eyewitness said the cycle was severely damaged and the car was smashed on its left side.

Traffic was diverted away from the scene for about two hours after the crash.
