Walk and run staged in St.George's
Runners in a total of 14 age groups will be vying for honours when the ninth annual Bermuda Eye Institute walk and run takes place this Sunday in St. George's.
Organisers are hoping that over 300 competitors – runners and walkers – will take part in the event which will start with the junior race at 9.00 a.m., followed by the adult race at 9.30. a.m.
Starting from the East End Primary School, the juniors will race over 2.7 kilometres while those over 13 will tackle at 5K route. Prizes will be handed out for the first runners in the following age groups: Girls 8-10, Boys 8-10, Girls 11-12, Boys 11-12, Girls 13-18, Boys 13-18, Female 19-39, Male 19-39, Female 40-49, Male 40-49, Female 50-59, Male 50-59, Female 60 and over, Male 60 and over. Awards will also be given to the first female walker and first male walker.
