A Smith's parish man was taken to hospital after he crashed his motorcycle while being pursued by Police.

According to a Police spokesman, at around 2.10 a.m. on Saturday Police began pursuing a motorcycle, which was travelling along North Shore in Devonshire.

"Details about what occurred are unclear at this time, however the rider of the motorcycle subsequently lost control and was involved in a collision in the St. Mark's Road/Collectors Hill Smith's parish area."

The 23-year-old rider was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of facial injuries suffered in the crash.

He was later released by the hospital and arrested for outstanding warrants.
