Woman faces $500,000 cannabis charge

A Pembroke woman has been charged with importing more than $500,000 worth of cannabis in to the Island.
Sherica Davina Trott, 24, of Glebe Road, was not required to enter a plea yesterday at Magistrates' Court as the matter must be heard in Supreme Court.
The defendant was charged with importing the controlled drug cannabis on February 1 and possessing it with the intent to supply on the same date in St. George's.
Senior Crown counsel Carrington Mahoney told the court the amount of drugs was 10,362 grams with a street value of $518,000.
Trott was bailed in the amount of $20,000 with one surety to return to court for mention on July 1.
