Drunk woman swore at Police officer
A 20-year-old college student was arrested after her drunken conduct became offensive.
Simone Johns, of St. John Hill, in Pembroke, was on Front Street, in Hamilton, when she appeared to be "drunk and incapable".
Magistrates' Court heard that at 3.50 a.m. Police on Front Street near the Bank of Butterfield saw Johns stumbling and hanging onto a female companion for support.
Johns continued to stumble across the street to a taxi stand, where she was approached by an officer concerned about her safety.
The officer advised Johns and her friend to get into a taxi, but Johns soon became verbally abusive, saying: "I can take care of my f***ing self, where the f*** were you when I was assaulted?"
She apologised to the court yesterday, before she was given a $600 fine for being drunk in public and using offensive words.
