The body of a 59-year-old man was found on land near tennis courts at North Village field, Marsh Folly Road.

Police say there does not appear to be suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of the Pembroke man, whose body was discovered by a security guard at 8.15 p.m. on Tuesday.

His body was found near the west gate of the field, yards from where a junior tennis tournament was taking place, although players and spectators had left the area by then. It appears he had driven to the spot in a car.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10.15 p.m. by an on-call physician.
