The Department of Parks has warned that the lifeguard tower on Turtle Beach, Cooper's Island, St. George's will be closed for maintenance from today.

It will reopen on Monday with full-time lifeguard coverage. There will still be full-time lifeguard coverage on the adjacent Clearwater Beach. In the meantime, all emergencies should be directed to 911.

The lifeguards on Clearwater Beach can also be alerted and will respond to emergencies on Turtle Beach.
