Limited library opening due to mould problem

The Bermuda National Library is partially closed to clean mould that caused eight employees to organise a sickout last Tuesday.

The second floor of the library will be closed until further notice to treat the mould problem, which was identified almost a year ago.

Only the ground floor of the library is open to the public, which means there is a limited selection of books, CDs and DVDs available. The Internet, microfilm machines, newspapers and magazines are also accessible.

The treatment, which started yesterday, involves replacing the carpet on the second floor and cleaning the building on the inside.

The library apologises for any inconveniences it may have caused but encourages anyone with a library card to access select databases on the library's website at www.bnl.bm.
