Suit up in your perfect costume for the Kardias Carnival
The Kardias Costume Carnival is gearing up to be a big success, as both club members and non-members prepare their outfits.
The event will be held tomorrow at 'Hillcrest' in Somerset and will raise money for The Spirit of Bermuda.
"We want people to concentrate on having fun and what better way to do that than to begin by stretching their imaginations and arriving in the perfect costume," said Malika Taylor of the Kardias Club.
"There will be prizes for the funniest costume, the sexiest costume, the scariest costume and many other categories.
"One of the highlights of the entertainment will be a 'Thriller' Dance Contest. Several guests have told me they've been polishing up their Michael Jackson routines especially for this, the competition will be rough."
In keeping with the Club's purpose of supporting the young people in the community, they commissioned a young Bermudian jewellery designer to create a special piece for the event.
"Alexandra Mosher has designed a piece that captures the spirit of charity," said Ms Taylor.
The Kardias chose The Spirit of Bermuda because it was impressed with how its programme has opened doors to Bermuda's youth.
"We feel strongly that the answer to many of our problems in society can be found in developing strong work ethics and learning to work together," added Ms Taylor. The Spirit of Bermuda helps youth meet these goals."
