Italian warship in St. George's

An amphibious Italian warship will be visiting St. George's today as part of its mission to teach young naval officers.

The San Giusto is expected to stay in the east end for four days before heading to Boston on Friday.

On-board are 92 midshipmen, including 20 women and three foreign cadets, from Albania, Jordan and Peru.

The ship left Italy on July 12 as part of an annual summer training cruise, introducing its midshipmen to naval skills, techniques and operational procedures, taking the concepts taught in their naval academy and putting them to use.
