Storm-hit Pink Beach Club bounces back
The Pink Beach Club is set to reopen today, following a five-day closure due to Hurricane Igor.
According to managing director Michael Williams, six or seven of the cottages at the resort in Hamilton Parish were damaged during the storm.
Waves from the South Shore entered the low-lying venue, but Mr. Williams said there was no structural damage and the repairs should take no more than a week.
No guests were present during the storm, as the Pink Beach Club closed on Saturday.
"Most of them went home, and some went to other hotels," explained Mr. Williams yesterday. "The repairs are going well and we are opening tomorrow for guests again."
The Royal Gazette reported in July that a writ had been filed by law firm Conyers Dill and Pearman that could see the Pink Beach Club placed in receivership.
Mr. Williams declined to comment on that issue, but confirmed: "We're up and running and we're ready for guests."
