Hood on verge of unveiling new boss

Robin Hood have wasted little time in getting ready for their inaugural season in the First Division.

The league newcomers have already raided rival teams as they look to bolster their squad for the new campaign, and expect to announce the arrival of a new coach in the next few days.

Ex-boss Paul Scope, who was in charge of the side during their time in the Commercial League has already stepped down to concentrate on his other role, that of club president.

"Since being accepted as full Affiliates, we have made good strides on both the playing and coaching fronts," said Scope.

"Although I have a UEFA 'B" license and we have two other such qualified coaches already at the club we do feel the need to bring in outside coaching talent and hope to secure the services of a well renowned, successful coach that will take us to the next level.

"We will also be placing a team in the new Corona League and hope to have an experienced coach on board there too."

Since the decision to admit Hood and MR Onions to the First Division was made, Scope has been hard at work, and has already managed to secure the services of Brazilian footballer Marcio Dias, who arrives from Sao Paulo club S.E. Palmieras, and ex-MLS professional Keith Beach.

And the new arrivals are unlikely to stop there, with Scope poised to add a Premier Division striker to his squad.

"We have signed Antoine Lugo from BAA and Trevor Corday from Ireland Rangers as well as a new Brazilian, Marcio Dias," said Scope.

"We are looking to add a few more players with Premier and First Division experience to ensure we will be competitive in both leagues.

"Last year, we also grabbed Keith Beach an ex-professional from the US, who will be better for a summer of fitness work.

"I think Keith will be a stand-out this season in the First Division.

"Our training sessions and pre-season games are under way and we expect to be very much ready when the season begins in October."
