Hogges go down in opener
Bermuda Hogges 0
Crystal Palace Baltimore 2
Bermuda Hogges suffered a defeat in their opening match of the season at Crystal Palace Baltimore last night.
Hogges were sunk by goals in either half and their disappointment was compounded with goalkeeper Timmy Figureido twisting his knee early in the first half. The Somerset Trojans stopper is now a major doubt for tonight's game against Real Maryland Monarchs.
Assistant coach Jack Castle said: "We lost against a very competitive team. Obviously it's a blow that Timmy injured his knee and he looks unlikely to be involved against Monarchs.
"We pressed hard in the second half and Stevie Astwood had our best chance. We were pleased with the new boys with Keston Lewis and Tokia Russell both playing well. We'll have to pick ourselves up and look for a result against Monarchs."
Hogges are in action tonight against Monarchs at 7 p.m. (Bermuda time).
