Talented Teens auditions this week

Reigning Miss Talented Teen Bermuda: Canjelae Taylor

Auditions for Hal Jackson's Talented Teens are set to take place on Wednesday at the Ruth Seaton James Centre of the Performing Arts between 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Sigma Xi Omega Chapter has invited Bermuda's most talented young women between the ages of 13 and 17 to audition for the chance to participate in the 2010 Hal Jackson's Talented Teen (Bermuda) Scholarship Competition.

The winner will be given the opportunity to go on to compete in the 40th Annual Hal Jackson's Talented Teens International Scholarship Competition, to be held in Bermuda this summer.

Those auditioning must have passing grades and regular attendance at their schools. Those interested are asked to present a two-minute talent presentation and prepare for a brief interview that will be conducted at the time of the audition.

Past Hal Jackson's Talented Teen International Competition winners include the reigning Miss Talented Teen Bermuda Canjelae Taylor who wowed audiences with her vocal abilities in our last competition.

The local competition will rate the young ladies on personality, performing talent and appearance. Competitors will have the chance to win a $2,000 scholarship and other prizes, along with a chance to vie for the International Competition title.

Young ladies from various parts of the United States and other countries will participate in the International Competition on July 25 at the Fairmont Southampton.
